Tükrös zenekar

Friday| 31 July | 19:00

The Tükrös Ensemble was founded in Budapest in 1986 with the aim of performing the folk music of the Hungarian-speaking regions as authentically as possible. Personal encounters, journeys to Transylvania, and the opportunity to experience a still-living traditional folk culture inspired the young musicians—who came from urban backgrounds and were trained in classical music—to dedicate their lives to preserving and performing folk traditions. Their role models have always been the old village bands, renowned for their close-knit ensemble playing and for their essential role in providing music for dancing.
