The members of the Ördöngös Zenekar started learning folk music through the music education started at the Téka Foundation in Szamosújvár, under the direction of the Harmadik Zenekar. They got together during the folk camps in Válaszút and Kalotaszentkirály, and by 2015 they were already functioning as Ördöngös. In 2017 they entered the Fölszállott a páva folk music talent contest, where they reached the finals. Since then, they continue playing music together as a primary hobby and at the highest possible level, as they admit that this is how they can evolve and be truly Hungarian.
