Gerege is the passport of diplomats used within the Great Mongol Empire. It is also a group that aspires to preserve the spirit of this pass and the talisman, to propagate music with complete immunity. Created in 2023, this new Mongolian quartet explores the traditional musical universe, following the heritage of the musicians from the four corners of Mongolia. Gerege uses khöömii, various throat singing techniques, clear vocals and traditional instruments such as the horse fiddle morin khuur and the lute tovshuur. Its repertoire consists of praise songs, traditional and popular Mongolian songs, and instrumental pieces from the different Mongolian ethnic groups.
