The Codoba family is one of the most influential and internationally renowned Romani musician dynasties from Magyarpalatka (Hungarian) / Pălatca (Romanian), a village in Transylvania's Mezőség (Transylvanian Plain). The celebrated family is among the foremost custodians of authentic Transylvanian folk music, preserving and passing down the local string band tradition from one generation to the next. The ensemble consists of Codoba Martin "Florin" and his two sons, Martin and Ignat, joined by double bassist Szilárd Szabó.
