Erdőfű is a group of friends, a melting pot of the leading figures and bands of the Hungarian folk and world music scene (Buda Folk, Góbé, etc.). Their name is borrowed from the story of the shepherd who lost his sheep and searched for them in the "forest grass". The orchestra aims to master the string music tradition of the Hungarians and the neighbouring peoples who live in close proximity to them in the villages of the Carpathian Basin. The ensemble's mission is to bring this rich and colourful musical culture into the modern urban environment, even after the disintegration of the agricultural and farming society.
